THE PALM COAST I KNOW

Palm Coast Canal Home

Fern Masters, Palm Coast Realtor

On the breezy northeast coast of Florida, located midway between historic St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, you will find the best kept secret in Florida - Flagler County! The shoreline of Flagler County is a special place. The Gulf Stream is farther offshore here than it is in South Florida or South Carolina and as a result, the ocean temperature tends always to be a few degrees cooler and the breezes are noticeably more refreshing.

The beachfront itself is a 26-mile expanse of soft pink coquina. It is nestled between the vast blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and rolling dunes on the other. It is a natural world of sea birds, sea oats, wild grasses and our own native Hammock.

Flagler Beach Florida

While the northern part of the shoreline is tranquil and simple, Flagler Beach further south is up-tempo and offers many top quality restaurants, cafes, boutiques and the popular Friday Farmer’s Market. Most days surfers are in the water catching the waves and fishermen can always be found on Flagler pier trying their luck for bluefish, snapper and flounder.

Bisecting Flagler County is the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). The waterway provides access to the ocean and also to a network of saltwater canals, on the beach side and mainland. Cruising these shimmering waters is one of the area’s most popular pastimes. There are many homes on the canals and homeowners have a variety of boats from kayaks and small fishing boats to large cruisers tied up to their private docks.

Take one of the two modern bridges from A1A to the mainland and you come into the City of Palm Coast. The master plan for Palm Coast was created in 1969 and the infrastructure – the roadways, water and sewer systems, the power and communication grids – for a fully developed community was already in place as the initial residential neighborhoods began to take shape. As a result, compared to other areas in the southeast that suffered severe growing pains, Palm Coast has had quiet and predictable growth.

Farmers Market Flagler BeachDeveloped by ITT, the present city of Palm Coast now has more than 60,000 residents and continues to grow. It has been the fastest growing county in the United States for the past four years. We have single-family homes in attractive residential neighborhoods. Gated communities such as Grand Haven, Hammock Dunes and Ocean Hammock offer golf and Palm Coast Plantation, The Sanctuary, and Yacht Harbor Village are boating communities. In addition, Sea Colony, Lakeside, and also Ocean Hammock and Hammock Dunes are right on the ocean. There are currently approved plans for at least ten other neighborhoods, some gated and some not.

The business climate is highly energized. Industrial parks and commercial areas are now home to hundreds of small to large sized businesses. There is a thriving Chamber of Commerce with membership always on the rise. Flagler County is a prime place for corporations to relocate to and has been an ideal location for entrepreneurs to start up new ventures.

Golf Flagler CountyThe Palm Coast area is truly for people who enjoy living the good life! There are eight golf courses, tennis courts, fishing, miles of walking and bike paths, salt water canals for boating, 3 bark parks for dogs, and a general aviation airport that attracts small corporate planes and the private pilot. Palm Coast is fresh and clean, Palm Coast is safe and comfortable, Palm Coast is relaxed and friendly.
